Group Classes

Training People to train dogs

Offering group classes at Bark N' Scratch Outpost located at 5838 W. Blue Mound Road in Wauwatosa.

All group classes are taught using the clicker, one may be purchased at the first class.
                                    
Puppy Kindergarten:
For puppies 8 weeks to 6 months - 45 minutes for 6 weeks-$95

Covers all the basics:  Potty training, crate training, mouthing/biting, inappropriate play, walking nicely on leash and socialization.  All of the training is done with positive reinforcement and lure based methods.  Puppies should come to the first class on a buckle or martingale (combo) collar and a six foot leash (no retractables), remember to bring yummy treats for your puppy.
                                    
"Paw"lishing The Basics:
For dogs over six months - One hour for 8 weeks - $135

Covers sit, down, come, stay, heel, wait, off and eliminating undesirable behaviors plus much more.  There will be "social time" for the dogs so that they learn appropriate play, as well as the parents learning what is appropriate to correct or just let the dogs work out.  Dogs should come to the first class, but they should come on a buckle or martingale (combo) collar and a six foot leash (no retractables), remember to bring yummy treats for your dog.

                                    
Canine Good Citzen Prep:
For dogs that have completed a basic class- One hour for 8 weeks - $135

This course preps your dog to take the AKC CGC test on week eight of the class.  The class will cover all ten steps of the test, as well as building on those items learned in the basic course.  The CGC test is the first step to becoming a therapy dog.  Dogs should come to class on a buckle or martingale (combo) collar and a six foot leash, remember to bring yummy treats for your dog.
                                     
Adventure Class:  Making Tracks Around town:
For dogs that have completed puppy or basic class - one hour for six weeks - $145

Do you have trouble putting what you have learned in the training facility into the real world? Then this six week class is for you!!!!  Spend five weeks out working in the REAL WORLD!!! The first week will meet in the training facility so that YOU AS A CLASS can decide where we are going to meet.   We could be going for a walk on the lake front, to the dog park, to a soccer game. Places were we will have LOTS of natural distractions and can proof our dogs and solid up what we know they learned in your home or the training facility.
